KCY Slag Crusher Overview
KCY Slag Crusher is designed for crushing slag in power plant conveying systems. The single-roller structure breaks oversized slag into smaller particles, preparing the material for more stable conveying, cooling, storage or further handling.
Unlike an independent general-purpose crusher, the equipment is selected as part of a complete slag handling process. Its configuration should match the upstream discharge equipment, downstream conveyor, slag temperature, moisture level and required processing capacity.

Main Slag Crusher Components
Housing and Liner
The housing contains the crushing process and connects with adjacent equipment. Internal liner plates protect the main body from direct contact with abrasive slag during operation.
Roller and Gearbox
The gearbox transfers driving power to the main roller shaft. The rotating roller then moves and compresses slag against the fixed crushing components inside the housing.
Jaw and Tooth Plates
Jaw plates and toothed plates directly contact oversized slag and apply the crushing force required to reduce large particles before they enter the downstream conveying process.
Bearings and Pedestals
Bearings support stable shaft rotation, while the split bearing pedestal structure simplifies installation and maintenance and helps control the alignment of the main roller shaft.

Thermal Power Plants
KCY Slag Crusher is used in thermal power plant slag conveying systems to reduce oversized bottom slag generated during boiler operation. By controlling the particle size before conveying, the crusher helps prepare the slag for subsequent transportation, cooling or storage. Equipment selection should be based on the boiler slag discharge method, actual slag output, temperature and downstream system arrangement.
Dry Slag Conveyor Systems
In a dry slag conveyor system, high-temperature slag may contain oversized and irregular particles that must be reduced before entering the next conveying stage. The single-roller slag crusher works together with the dry slag conveyor to provide a controlled material size. Connection design should consider inlet temperature, conveyor capacity, installation height, thermal expansion and equipment interface dimensions.
Wet Slag Handling Systems
The crusher can also be applied under wet slag working conditions where moisture affects material flow, adhesion and discharge behavior. The equipment layout should provide stable feeding and sufficient maintenance access while reducing material accumulation around the inlet and outlet.
